Tempered glass is what every pane on a car uses except the windshield, and when it fails it does so completely, converting itself into hundreds of blunt cubes in an instant. Those cubes go down inside the door skin, into the seat rails, under the carpet and into the trunk well, and getting them out is the bulk of this job rather than an afterthought to it.
Once the assembly is clear, the new pane goes in matched to your exact vehicle so the curvature, thickness and shade band are correct, with fresh clips and seals rather than reused hardware. On a door window we check the track and regulator and run the glass through its full travel several times. On rear glass we reconnect the defroster grid and any antenna element bonded into the pane and confirm both actually work. Then the cabin gets vacuumed properly, including under the trunk liner, because that is where fragments settle and stay if nobody bothers to look for them. Nothing is signed off until the window travels freely and the electrics behave, because a regulator with fragments still in it will fail again within a couple of months and neither of us wants that conversation.
