Glass work on cars kept near the water involves more than the pane. Door window channels, the drainage slots along the bottom of a door and the seals around fixed glass all take salt-laden damp year after year, and when a window has been broken or badly sealed for a while the inside of that assembly gets wet as well. Fitting a new pane into a corroding channel is a short-term fix that comes back.
So the sequence is: identify the exact piece from the VIN, since trim and framing change what a given model takes; source it, usually same day when it is in the region; then open the assembly up and look at it properly before anything new goes in. The cavity is cleared, the track and regulator checked, drains confirmed clear, and new clips and seals fitted rather than reused. Rear panes with defroster grids or antenna elements are reconnected and tested, which down here is not a formality, because those grids fail early in this climate and it is worth knowing whether yours still works. If a channel or a drain is in poor condition you will hear about it while the panel is open, not afterwards.

Flood damage is the Sheepshead Bay case that needs saying out loud. Cars on the low blocks near the bay do occasionally stand in salt water during a serious storm, and afterwards people find water coming in around the glass and assume a seal has failed. Sometimes it has. Just as often the water is arriving through a blocked cowl drain, a corroded body seam or a sunroof drain tube that filled with silt, and replacing a perfectly good pane will not stop any of that. We will find out where it is actually coming from before quoting you for glass. Selling somebody a windshield that does not fix their leak is a fast way to lose a customer and everyone they would have sent us.
